2023 - J Day Round 1

Hello,

This past Sunday, April 23rd, was the opening round of the 2023 J Day Off-Road season. The race was held at MX338 in Southwick, MA. Weather and race conditions were…interesting to say the least. The rain started on Saturday evening and it kept falling for the rest of the weekend. Over 1.5 inches of rain fell. Due to the weather, the track was shortened to exclude any portions of the motocross track and the format was changed to just 1 moto.

Team Riders:

Nate Marr #84 – Pro 125/A Open – Nate had a great day in the mud. “It went pretty good, was kind of just trying to survive it,” he said. Nate kept the 125 parked and only raced in A Open on this rainy day. He ended up leading a few laps, finishing 2nd in class, and 19th overall in the entire event.

Jon Gagnon #105 – A Open – Unfortunately, Jon’s day was not full of luck. He ended up getting stuck multiple times in some holes that were up to his radiator shrouds. He managed to finish the race with no brakes and the clutch barley hanging on. Jon crossed the line in 18th.

Jared Drouin #333 – A Open – Jared also had a his shared of misfortune in the mud. He saw the opportunity to pass multiple riders in the hill climb section and opted to take an alternate line. The line he choose ended up being a lot muddier and slipperier than he thought. Jared got stuck for a while but ended up getting out and crossing the line in 14th.

Colton McQuarrie #34 – Super Mini – Colton had a great day at Southwick. He kept his YZ85 pinned and managed to stay out of trouble and avoid all the bottomless mud and carnage. Colton finished up in 2nd.

Thank you for reading this and supporting the team. Please follow LBR Moto on Instagram and Facebook to see what were up too. Now it’s time to wash some bikes and replace some burnt out brakes and clutches.
